A number of substituted benzamides exist, including: The sedatives trimetozine, and tricetamide, the CNS stimulants ethamivan, and nikethamide, the anthelmintic agents niclosamide, clioxanide and bromoxanide, the coccidiostat aklomide, and the antiarrhythmic agent capobenic acid are all made from the corresponding benzoic acids in obvious ways.
